Hello, I want to answer the question are affiliate marketers entrepreneurs? Entrepreneur is a cool word now but first, what the heck is an entrepreneur?
The dictionary defines at as someone who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so.
Usually it has to do with risk. Risking money, reputation and time. Doing this is more entrepreneural. Of course it comes down to how you look at it.
To me an entrepreneur is someone who takes advantage of an opportunity. If a guy decides to marry a girl that is an opportunity right? He is the head of the household, isn’t he an entrepreneur?
He is definitely risking his money, time and reputation.
Someone who creates a TikTok channel to promote beauty products is risking their reputation. Wouldn’t that be an entrepreneur?
Some people think that if your an entrepreneur you don’t work for anyone? I don’t buy into this because your always working for someone.
Even if you have your own business as a social media marketing agency as an example you still work for the people who hired you.
Don’t you still work for the platforms that you use to advertise on? I just started reading the book called Ogily on Advertising who ran a big media company.
It’s a great book, with a lot of wisdom. This is one of the best things I got from the book, the best asset a man can have is humility in the presence of a good idea.
He shudders to think how many he has rejected.
Being an entrepreneur to me is taking advantage of a good opportunity. When Jeff Bezos quit his investing job to start Amazon he was taking advantage of an opportunity. He first started selling books, then he moved into many other areas.
Affiliate marketing is just an opportunity. Some of them are better than others. Even a job is an opportunity. I think it’s healthy to look at all of them, and not romanticize about just 1.
If everyone becomes an entrepreneur, going into corporate America or getting a government job might be the best approach. It comes down to supply and demand for everything. This is why it’s healthy to look at things that are not popular.
Also being an entrepreneur too me is taking responsibility for everything. This attitude to me leads to happiness because you have more control. If something isn’t working out then instead of blaming someone or something else take advantage of the opportunity to make a change.
In conclusion it’s more of a way you look at things and an attitude, this is my definition.
What do you think? Am I wrong? Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated.
Lastly, as an affiliate marketer I truly feel the best skill you can learn is how to promote offers. If you don’t promote anything you will make no money.
This philosophy of whoever holds the breath the longest, wins I think is complete bullshit. There is a right way
